This evening performance celebrates the closing weekend of Vermeer, Monet, Rembrandt: Forging the Frick Collections in Pittsburgh & New York exhibition. Daphne Alderson sings the longing of a "Girl Interrupted at Her Music," in a love serenade to art and its magical healing powers. Join us under the sun, moon and stars for a magical evening with mercurial chanteuse Daphne and her extraordinary St. Michael Chamber Band. A donation of $5 per adult is suggested.

Pipas, guzhengs, ouds, and more! HarmoniZing, a Pittsburgh-based group founded with the aim of nurturing cross-cultural understanding through the arts, brings together musicians playing a diverse array of instruments for an evening of global voices and soaring music.


With special guests Daphne Alderson and John Marcinizyn, the concert features solos of the pipa (Chinese lute), guzheng (Chinese zither), oud (Middle Eastern lute), and tabla (Indian hand drums) and concludes with ensemble pieces recently composed by Guan Huidan of China, Chinese Canadian Yao Wang, and Iranian American Ehsan Matoori as well as a traditional Ghanaian song arranged by Joseph Sheehan.

Neighborhood Project in collaboration with Year of Creativity, Pitt Nationality Rooms, Center for Russian & East European Studies, and Aria 412 will be presenting an evening of Russian Rep including the gem Mavra by Igor Stravinsky with chamber orchestra.


Our evening begins with pieces by Rachmaninov, Rimksy Korsakov, and Georgy Sviridov followed by the comedy Marva: a story that shows when two people are in love, they'll do just about anything to be together.

The Rotunda at the Frick sets the stage for an hour of French Chansons... Piaf, Monnot, Sarde, Pils and more from Daphne and the gifted accordionist Vladimir Mollov.


The Frick Pittsburgh will present Van Gogh, Monet, Degas: The Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, an exhibition featuring more than 70 masterpieces collected by Pittsburgh-born collector and philanthropist, Paul Mellon (1907-1999), beginning in spring 2018.

Beloved chanteuse Daphne Alderson returns with new program of Leonard Cohen’s legacy, a vintage tapestry of love, loss and rebirth. This premiere concert features newly imagined-versions of the folk rock movement that Cohen created with Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, and Judy Collins. Along with the haunting Famous Blue Raincoat, Joan of Arc and Suzanne, Since You Asked, California, and Mitchell’s wistful Both Sides Now and bittersweet A Case of You, there are nods to Buffy Sainte Marie, conjuring Cohen’s Greenwich Village concert scene. This performance features Daphne's stellar ensemble of guitar, cello, accordion, and bass.
